government should do right by us

Running to represent running to represent Brooks, Frankfort, Jackson, Knox, Monroe, Swanville, Thorndike, Unity, Waldo, in District 38

I’m running for office because I see too many people in our community doing everything right and still falling behind. My family lives that reality. Like so many others, we work hard, juggle responsibilities, and still feel the pressure of rising costs, from housing to childcare to basic needs. I decided to run because I got tired of waiting for someone else to step up. I believe our community deserves leadership that understands these struggles firsthand and is willing to fight to make things better for our neighbors, our children, and the future we’re building together.

My life has always been rooted in community and care. I grew up in Maine, surrounded by a family that valued learning, creativity, and the natural world. Today, my husband and I are raising our three children in Swanville, where we chose to build a life close to nature and close to family. My work—whether in our community’s education, libraries, or now serving families through my church and ministry training—has always centered on helping people, creating connection, and making sure no one feels alone or overlooked. That’s the kind of leadership I bring: grounded, compassionate, and focused on bringing people together to solve real problems.

What drives me is simple: I believe government should be available to actually help people. That means making sure everyone has access to safe housing, food, affordable healthcare, good jobs, and a strong education. It means standing up to growing inequality and making sure working families aren’t left behind while a small number of people hold all the power. It means protecting vulnerable people, listening to our communities and building a society where everyone is safe, seen, and supported. I’m running to bring a new generation of leadership forward—one that leads with empathy, fairness, and a real commitment to community. If you want someone who understands what you’re going through and will work every day to make life better here, I’m asking for your vote.

  • My biggest joys are getting married to David and having our three children.

  • I am motivated by caring for others, I truly believe if we can all work to care for others we can build a better society.

  • Too many people in our community are doing everything right and still falling behind.

What Matters Most?

Strengthening Local Communities

I believe we’re at our best when we take care of each other. Right now, too many people feel isolated and stretched thin. I want to invest in the spaces and systems that bring people together so no one feels like they’re on their own.

Affordable Housing & Cost of Living

I’m fighting to make sure people can actually afford to live here. Too many families are working hard at multiple jobs and still can’t keep up with housing costs, repairs, and basic expenses. I know that pressure personally. We need real solutions that make housing stable and affordable, not a luxury reserved for the rich.

Economic Fairness & Working Families

I believe our economy should work for the people who keep it running. Right now, there’s a growing gap between those who have everything and those who are struggling just to get by. That’s not acceptable. I will fight for good-paying jobs, fair wages, and an economy where working families can actually build a secure life.

Supporting Local Farms & Heritage

So many family farms are trying to make a living and provide high-quality food for their neighbors. The costs of doing that are getting out of reach. I hear from people who want to start farming but simply can’t afford the land. We have incredibly talented farmers in this region, they deserve real support, fair opportunities, and the ability to keep doing this work for generations to come.

Community Care & Basic Needs

I believe things like housing, healthcare, food, clean water, and education are basic human rights. Government should be a partner in making sure people are cared for, not something that gets in the way of people’s life. I want to strengthen the kinds of community-based supports that help people in real, tangible ways.

Protecting Vulnerable People

I am deeply motivated to protect children and vulnerable communities. I see too much harm happening to people who need support the most, and I won’t accept that as normal. Whether it’s standing up against injustice, discrimination, or systems that leave people behind, I will always push for fairness and dignity for everyone.
